Date we stayed: March 23, 2013

Water & Bathroom: Yes
Showers: Hot (not tested)
Electricity: Yes
Internet: Yes
Kitchen: No

Notes: A quiet family campground on the river. The bathrooms were pretty nasty, but the owner was nice and the view of the river was spectacular. It's a great place to stop just before or after the Argentina border.

Notes: Great owners, good campsites with plenty of space and grassy areas. Only problem is there is no shelter if you get caught in the rain. If you need any help filling propane tanks, the owner can show you the place.

Montevideo
GPS: S34 54.202 W56 11.564
Cost: US$67 / triple room (Booked online)
Date we stayed: March 27, 2013

Water & Bathroom: Yes
Showers: Yes
Electricity: Yes
Internet: Yes
Kitchen: No

Parking: A few blocks away

Notes: If you want to stay here, book in advance online, we got a much better deal than what was advertised for walk ins. The hotel claims to have free parking, but it is a very small valet only garage a few blocks away. There is a pay garage around the corner that will let you park (and keep your keys) for about UYU 200 per 24 hours.

33 Orientales (Campground)

33 Orientales

33 Orientales

Durazno
GPS: S33 22.117 W56 31.070

Water & Bathroom: Yes
Showers: Hot (not tested)
Electricity: Some spots
Internet: No
Kitchen: No
Restaurant: No

Notes: We were told that as tourists we did not need to pay for camping. Large grounds easy to get away from the crowds. Electricity is only at the sites closest to the check in area. There's a nice river in the back if you want to explore.

Termas Guaviyu (Campground)

Guaviyu
GPS: S31 50.429 W57 53.205
Cost: AR$100 per person
Date we stayed: March 29, 2013

Water & Bathroom: Yes
Showers: Hot
Electricity: Yes
Internet: No
Kitchen: No
Restaurant: Yes
Parking: Yes

Notes: Never have we seen a campground this big or busy. We camped here the night before Good Friday with approximately 4000 other people. I imagine any other time of year this would be an excellent place to chill for a few days. From where we camped the bathrooms were a ways away and too busy for us to bother anyway. There are indoor and outdoor thermal pools you can enjoy for an additional fee.
